January of 1993, Chief Lutch put a 1980 International Utility Truck into service. Members of the company built this truck from the frame up. The chassis was a former Conrail four door cab and the body was re-fabricated from a soda truck. The truck features a six-man cab, for the safety of our firefighters, seven large compartments for carrying various pieces of rescue equipment, two 100 lb. Dry chemical extinguishers, a five-bottle cascade system and a 2000 lb. Winch. This truck was sold to Lilly Fire Company in 1997. President Dennis Marshall led his Company into the purchase of land along Kennedy Avenue, between 17th and 19th streets. This land formerly held the railroad tracks and part of the train station in town. August 15-21, 1993, finds President Marshall and his Company hosting the 101st Convention of the Central District Volunteer Firemen's Association, being held in conjunction with the Borough's Centennial Celebration--all of which is centered around the Fire Company (where else?!). Retired Chief Francis J. 'Bucky' Lutch was elected President of the Central District Volunteer Firemen's Association. With the close of the Centennial Celebration, the truck committee for the snorkel went back to work. After many meetings and proposals, the committee signed a contract in December 1993.
